Maria’s Swiss Anise Cookies

If you like Anise, this simple Swiss recipe will become one of your holiday favorites. They are chewy and crunchy with just the right amount of anise flavor. A mug of afternoon coffee and an anise cookie makes afternoon delight!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large eggs
  • cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp whole anise seed (crush with rolling pin to fine powder)
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • cup flour

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees and lightly grease cookie sheets.
  • Beat eggs and sugar until very foamy
  • Add crushed Anise seed, baking powder and flour.
  • Refrigerate dough for 3 hours
  • Shape cookies into crescent shape and bake for 15 minutes until slightly browned.

Notes

Enjoy. These are really tasty with coffee and tea.
